Windset Promotes BC Grown Produce and Canadian Agriculture!

Windset Farms® is pleased to announce that the Investment Agriculture Foundation of British Columbia has accepted their funding application for the BC Agrifood and Seafood Market Development (BCASMD) Program.

Funding for this project has been provided by the Governments of Canada and British Columbia through the Canadian Agricultural Partnership, a federal-provincial-territorial initiative. The program is delivered by the Investment Agriculture Foundation of BC.

The goal of the BCASMD Program is to promote and expand BC exports and sales in the agricultural, food and seafood sector.

The BCASMD Program provides cost-shared funding support for market development projects and activities to organizations located in British Columbia, Canada in the agriculture, food and seafood sector. Activities for funding include market skills training, marketing research in relatable fields, market development planning, and export market development activities, including marketing collateral and promotional tools. This government funded program enhances the competitiveness, profitability and sustainability of BC agriculture and agri-food in domestic and international markets.

With Windset Farm’s head office located in the Greater Vancouver area, we jumped at the opportunity to have additional funding to further grow the international market for greenhouse grown tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and specialty items. Windset’s natural and sustainably grown produce can currently be found in stores across Western Canada, the United States, Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. The funding provided to us through the BCASMD Program is being used to advertise in “The Costco Connection”, an in-house Costco Wholesale publication distributed to Costco members in the United States. With an average readership of 29 million, this publication will spread the word about BC grown foods and provide an example of what this beautiful province has to offer! Readers will be able to see Windset Farms® produce incorporated into a fun, appetizing, summer recipe that highlights fresh, local, BC grown produce. We hope you pick up a copy at your local Costco July 2019!

We would like to thank the Governments of Canada and British Columbia for providing this cost-sharing funding opportunity to Windset Farms® and other organizations in the province. We are also grateful for the Investment Agriculture Foundation of British Columbia for their role in delivering this program. By promoting homegrown produce, we help share with the world the high-quality agricultural businesses BC has to offer. We look forward to further expanding our market reach and working alongside the thriving agriculture, food and seafood sectors of BC in the coming years!
