Farm Worker

Windset Farms® is looking for individuals who are interested in full time, permanent or seasonal work, in our greenhouse facility in Delta, BC. We are looking for people who are available during the week, and on weekends. 40+ hours per week.

The tasks required of the position include:

  • Plant Care (Picking, De-leafing, Pruning, Clipping)

  • Operating and Maintaining Farm Machinery and Equipment
  • Loading Produce and Products for Transport
  • Clean-Up

Maintenance Electrician

Location: Santa Maria, CA

Windset Farms® is looking for an individual who is interested in full time work as a Maintenance Electrician, in our greenhouse facility in Santa Maria, CA.

This Maintenance Electrician will primarily be responsible for ensuring a safe, comfortable, functional operating environment by completing assigned work order projects; performing a wide variety of skilled and unskilled maintenance activities (i.e. troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, ventilating, water treatment, utility, and hydraulic systems, as well as, alarms, boilers, machines; and, training and assisting other maintenance workers, as well as, executing preventative maintenance on equipment.

Primary responsibilities to include:

  • Maintaining a California State General Electrician Certification
  • Perform scheduled preventative and predictive maintenance on machinery and equipment
  • Install, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, process, and support machinery, equipment, and systems
  • Support production by troubleshooting and repairing equipment (e.g., mechanical, electrical) failures
  • Use gauges and test instruments to diagnose malfunctions and failures
  • Fabricate and install new equipment for assigned projects
  • Maintaining equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt
  • Preparing maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing
  • Act as “On Call” Technician periodically to be available for urgent facility/operations issues
  • Make safety a priority in all daily activities and attend weekly safety meetings
  • Use computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for work orders and maintenance procedures
  • Capture and maintain information on equipment deficiencies, and communicate information effectively with facilities engineer/or manager and co-workers
  • Assist other maintenance or operations team members when required
  • Maintain housekeeping standards and maintains shop cleanliness
  • Implement all safe work practices and programs including, but not limited to those that support personnel safety, process safety, product safety, and environmental safety

  • Working inside, working around machines with moving parts and moving objects, radiant and electric energy, working closely with others, working alone, working prolonged or irregular hours

Maintenance Facilitator/Grounds Inspector

Location: Santa Maria, CA

Windset Farms® is looking for an individual who is interested in full time work as a Maintenance Facilitator / Grounds Inspector, in our greenhouse facility in Santa Maria, CA.

The Maintenance Facilitator / Grounds Inspector is responsible for performing routine inspection and reporting on the conditions of the facility and surrounding grounds. He/she will also perform work order management software data input and management. Work involves coordinating the dissemination of information, developing filing systems, and coordinating work order distribution in support of the Maintenance Development Coordinator. The Maintenance Facilitator / Grounds Inspector must provide the highest level of customer service at all times while remaining positive and professional. A collaborative team player, the Maintenance Facilitator/Grounds Inspector embodies a positive, professional, proactive approach to his/her work.

Primary responsibilities to include:

  • Conduct daily routine inspection of the facility and surrounding Windset property and submit reports to the appropriate department to ensure routine and non-routine maintenance is being addressed in a timely fashion
  • Work with the Maintenance Technicians and support labor to ensure timely completion and processing of work orders
  • Investigate, report and propose solutions for maintenance related issues that impede the progress of Windset operation
  • Provide feedback to all departments as necessary to maximize effectiveness of Windset equipment and systems
  • Report on any obstacles that impede the progress of Maintenance Technicians
  • Open, Assign and close maintenance work orders
  • Maintain asset tracking software system FIIX to ensure location accuracy and input or deletion of assets
  • Generate, as needed, investigation reports on equipment damage that was obvious neglect or unexplained circumstance
  • Order maintains inventory control of materials and supplies in support of maintenance shop and Building Services
  • Make safety a priority in all daily activities and attend weekly safety meetings
  • Maintaining and organizing the parts inventory within the maintenance department
  • Coordinating the ordering, receipt and distribution of tools and supplies
  • Maintain logs for critical equipment/activities as directed by Management

Additional responsibilities:

The following is a list of responsibilities that the Administrative Assistant may be required to complete:

  • Working indoors and out, working around machines with moving parts and moving objects, radiant and electric energy, working closely with others, working alone, working prolonged or irregular hours
  • Ensure Windset Maintenance buildings, equipment and tools are properly maintained
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, skill and ability requirements:

  • 3-5 years of previous work experience in a similar position
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of office practices and administrative procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage data to generate effective reports
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Proactive, self-starter requiring limited supervision and with a desire to work in a team environment
  • Physically capable of making frequent trips around entire facility
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite programs including Excel, Word and Outlook
