Quality Control Inspector

Location: Delta, BC

Windset Farms® is currently expanding its Food Safety and Quality Assurance department and looking for an enthusiastic, results driven individual to join its family in the role of Quality Control Inspector.  We offer a competitive compensation package that includes health, dental, and vision benefits, opportunities for bonuses, and RRSP matching.

The tasks required of the position include:

  • Inspecting and monitoring product quality from receiving of raw materials through to finished product.
  • Performing in-line inspections
  • Reporting active issues to appropriate department personnel in a timely and effective manner.
  • Being knowledgeable in customer expectations and product specifications.
  • Maintaining QA logs and checklists on a daily basis.
  • Task planning and organizing ones daily schedule.
  • Monitor and report deviations in day to day inspections.
  • Train employees on appropriate QA SOP’s.
  • Implementing QC programs and policies through communication with Greenhouse and Production personnel.
  • Conduct QC checks/inspections on in-coming and out-going products, reporting it back to Procurement and Sales department for proper and timely claim back from supplier (incoming inspections) or allocation to the customers (outgoings).

We are looking for:

  • Ability to make independent decisions.
  • Proactive, self-starter requiring limited supervision.
  • Flexible and adaptive, working in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, oral and written.
  • Class 5 drivers licence (we are not accessible by Public Transit).
  • Basic computer literacy.

Previous knowledge and experience in the following areas will be considered an asset:

  • Forklift CertificationForklift Certification.
  • Working in an agricultural environment.

Maintenance Assistant

Location: Delta, BC

Windset Farms® is currently expanding its Pack Shed and Grading Department and looking for an enthusiastic, results driven individual to join its family in the role of Maintenance Assistant.  We offer a competitive compensation package that includes health, dental, and vision benefits, opportunities for bonuses, and RRSP matching.

The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for performing equipment changeovers, doing preventative maintenance on grading equipment, and ensuring machines are running optimally.

The tasks required of the position include:

  • Performing box changes to support the grading floor.
  • Detecting and reporting defective materials or questionable conditions to the lead hands.
  • Maintaining the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and following prescribed safety regulations.
  • Performing prescribed preventative maintenance.
  • Changing, maintaining, and tuning various grading equipment.
  • Coordinating with the Grading Managers and other departments for feedback of the functionality of machinery and equipment.

We are looking for:

  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Ability to stand/walk for up to seven hours per day; ability to safely lift, push and move items within Work Safe guidelines.
  • Time management and priority management skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Self-starter requiring limited supervision and a desire to work in a team environment.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills..

Warehouse Shipper/Receiver Lead Hand

Location: Delta, BC

Windset Farms® is looking for a Warehouse Shipper/Receiver Lead Hand to join our Warehouse team, in our greenhouse facility in Delta, BC. The individual will be ambitious, driven, and be looking for a long-term, progressive career at Windset Farms®.  The Warehouse Lead Hand embodies a positive, pro-active, and professional approach to his/her work. Our ideal candidate will have a warehouse background in shipping and receiving within the food industry. This candidate will be available to work various shifts (5 days per week) between the hours of 5AM and 9PM Monday through Saturday. As we are located in rural Ladner, reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license is a must.

The tasks required of the position include:

  • Arrangement of shipping through the preparation of bills of lading, invoices and other shipping documents.
  • Loading and unloading of shipments as required.
  • Leading and supporting operations in an efficient way while ensuring safety.
    Inspecting and verifying incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages, and reject damaged goods.
  • Working with Warehouse Manager and Supervisors to improve operational efficiency

Education and Experience Requirements: Basic Education with 2 or more years of experience and progressive work experience in a similar shipping function.

Greenhouse Worker

Location: Delta, BC

Windset Farms® is looking for individuals who are interested in full time, permanent or seasonal work, in our greenhouse facility in Delta, BC. We are looking for people who are available during the week, and on weekends. 40+ hours per week.

The tasks required of the position include:

• Picking
• De-leafing
• Prunning
• Clipping
• Clean-up

These positions are available for individuals who already have the legal ability to work in Canada. Location: 3660 – 41B Street, Delta British Columbia V4K 3N2.
