On Wednesday May 1, Vancouver Union Gospel Mission (UGM) welcomed 14 Windset employees to help serve and prepare meals for residents of the downtown east side. This is the fifth year Windset Farms has had the privilege of joining UGM on their mission to transform communities by overcoming poverty, homelessness, and addiction.
Vancouver UGM is located in the heart of Vancouver’s downtown east side, where many of the cities less fortunate residents reside. This location allows them to have first hand, immediate access to those in need. Services offered include:
- Meals and outreach
- Alcohol and drug recovery
- Shelter and housing
By providing these vital services UGM is able to transform lives and provide hope for many men, women, children and families.
Windset was fortunate to play a small part in UGMs mission to better the lives of so many people in our city. Throughout the day Windset team members served and prepared food for over 500 guests. It was safe to say that everyone left UGM feeling truly humbled from the experience.
Windset would like to thank Union Gospel Mission for generously allowing us to participate in the UGM Day of Meals. We look forward to partnering with this wonderful organization again in the future!
