With 2018 coming to a close, it’s time to look back at some of Windset Farms® top moments of the year. It’s been an exciting year for Windset with new product launches, trade shows, and new members welcomed into the family. We can only hope that 2019 is just as successful. So here it is, Windset’s 2018 round up!
Kicking off the list was Windset’s first venture into herbs with the launch of Living Organic Basil. Its sweet aromatic leaves won over consumers who loved incorporating the herb into their favorite dishes. We can’t wait to bring this gem back to retailers in the Spring.
Windset was also fortunate enough to exhibit at two of the produce industries biggest shows of the year, CPMA Convention & Trade Show in April and PMA Fresh Summit and Expo in October.
CPMA took place in Windset’s hometown Vancouver, British Columbia. We were over joyed to welcome exhibitors and attendees to our beautiful city. At the show we had chef and owner of Fable Kitchen, Trevor Bird, cooking up Braised Chicken Tacos topped with pickled peppers at the Windset Farms booth. Visitors were able learn about Windset’s products, growing methods, and sustainability initiatives while munching on delicious tacos and sipping cold beer. It doesn’t get any better!
In October Windset took part in its next big show of the year, PMA, hosted in Orlando, Florida. The highlight of the show was when Windset’s Duet Snack Pack, featured in the “On-The-Go” showcase, was elected as a finalist for the Best Packaging award. We can’t wait to see what PMA has in store for us next year!
The next big highlight of the year was Windset becoming a proud sponsor of Vancouver’s Fusion FC Football Club. Windset is pleased to provide these young athletes with healthy snacks during their games and have contributed towards the teams supplies. We look forward to seeing their continued success during the 2019 season. Welcome to the family FC Fusion!
This year Windset wanted to make sure its team members were not only eating their vegetables but exercising too! Joining the 2018 BC Ride to Conquer Cancer® seemed like the perfect motivator. Over 20 people joined the Windset Farms team and battled the rain and wind to complete the two-day, 200 km ride this past August. The rain didn’t scare them away, and we look forward to taking part in next years ride!
In addition to these amazing milestones, Windset Farms was also able to give back to consumers this year by running a social media contest in partnership with Newmans Fine Foods. Winners of the BC Day BBQ Giveaway won an assortment of locally sourced and sustainable meats, greenhouse grown produce, and company swag.
