With the holiday season approaching, it’s important to remember that many people can use a helping hand this time of year, the socially distanced way. 2020 has been a difficult time for everyone; unwelcome changes, lost income, increased stress level, uncertainty, etc. While we may not be able to volunteer at local shelters or pay a visit to those who need it most, there are still plenty of ways to give back this holiday season, while following the advice of health officials.
One of the best and most favorable ways to give back is to donate funds directly to a local shelter or food bank. Many of these organizations can purchase products below retail price, meaning your monetary donation can go much further in their hands. Of course, if you would prefer to donate items or food directly, please reach out to shelters in BC, LA, or wherever you are located, to inquire about their needs.
Another excellent way to give back this year is to support local businesses. When possible, pick a locally sourced item, get a take-out from your favorite restaurant, purchase gift cards for your friends and family from shops in your neighborhood. By doing so, you’ll be helping your friends, neighbors, and community.
Lastly, let’s remember to thank those who are working tirelessly to keep members of our communities safe and healthy. At Windset, we would like to share our gratitude to local organizations including, Santa Barbara County Food Bank, Food Banks BC, and local restaurants for our continued partnerships allowing us to donate produce to those in need in our communities every week.
