The numbers are in and this years Farm Credit Canada (FCC) Drive Away Hunger provided over 9.5 million meals for food banks across Canada!
These vital donations aim to replenish the stock at local foods banks and support school food programs nation wide.
This was FCC 15th anniversary and to mark this momentous occasion volunteers drove tractors through communities collecting food and donations. This 15-day food drive began Oct. 4th, 2018 and spanned across the country. In addition to food donated during the tractor tour, $100,000 was raised in support of school feeding programs. These funds have gone towards schools in Canada in hopes that no child goes hungry.
Windset Farms® has been a national partner of FCC Drive Away Hunger for the past eight years. This year we donated 100,000 lbs of fresh, greenhouse grown produce to the organization, and we hope to be able to do so for many years to come.
